Management team Chief Executive Officer
Don Forsyth

The Chief Executive Officer is responsible and accountable:

  • To develop, implement and achieve goals and objectives.
  • Assist the Board of Management exercise due diligence with responsible Corporate Governance
  • For operational policy, corporate planning, risk management, budgets, program development, objectives, financial and other targets, milestones and priorities, Implementation Committees; and relationships with Industry partners
  • For the overall CMA, effective and efficient management of all of the CMA's resource leadership, management delegations and business management policies
  • To act as the Secretary to the Board and the Public Officer of the CMA
  • To provide industry leadership in the provision of professional strategic advice on key issues to Government
  • To lead a strong multi-disciplinary and highly effective corporate team with strength, presence and a committed team approach to organisational management.

Community and Partnership Program Manager

The Corangamite CMA’s role in this program is build stakeholder partnerships and to advise government on project priorities, works programs and monitoring. Partnership services are provided or contracted by the DSE, DPI, other government and statutory agencies, research institutes, local government, non-government organisations, the private sector and community groups.

The program includes:

  • Ongoing review and development of the RCS
  • Identifying and establishing partnership opportunities and projects
  • Development of the Regional Catchment Investment Plan (RCIP)
  • Identifying priority activities and work programs
  • Providing advice to the Victorian and Australian governments on funding sources for targeted investment
  • Monitoring, evaluating and reporting on the performance of projects and processes
  • Liaising with the DSE and DPI on an annual approved regional works program
  • Supporting Landcare.

River and Catchment Program Manager
Trent Wallis

The River and Catchment Program addresses priority issues and management of assets identified in the overarching Regional Catchment Strategy. Program responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing the River Health Strategy
  • Developing water quality, floodplain management and waterway
  • Implementing State Environment Protection Policy (SEPP - Waters of Victoria) through the River Health Strategy and Regional Catchment Strategy
  • Developing detailed river health works programs and initiating community participation in these programs
  • Implementing strategic partnerships with Barwon Water, Central Highlands Water, South West Water and Southern Rural Water
  • Liaising with local government on relevant issues
  • Managing the Barwon River through Geelong
  • Managing the Lough Calvert Drainage Scheme and Woady Yaloak Diversion Scheme
  • Undertaking regional floodplain studies and works programs
  • Licensing works on waterways and acting as a referral CMA for new irrigation and commercial dams
  • Co-ordinating the development and implementation of major sub-strategies and programs, including the Salinity Action Plan, Native Vegetation Plan, pest plants and animals plans and the Soil Health Strategy.

Corporate Program Manager

Paul Rawson

The Corporate program functions of the Corangamite CMA
essentially involve:

  • Ensuring the condition and management of regional land,
    water and vegetation resources is monitored, audited and
    reported to the State Government annually
  • Producing an audited annual report
  • Developing a Corporate Plan annually
  • Communicating programs and projects to the communit
  • Implementing the Corporate Governance framework
  • Financial Management, including human resources
    support
  • Information systems to support the CMA
  • Policies and procedures, including Occupational Health
    and Safety policies in the Corangamite CMA
  • Overseeing the implementation and regular review of the
    Risk Management Plan.
