Ramsar Grants Program 2019-20

Port Phillip Bay (Western Shoreline) and Bellarine Peninsula Ramsar Site

The Corangamite CMA in partnership with the Victorian Government is funding up to $140,000 for the 2019-20 Ramsar Grants Program.

The 2019-20 Ramsar Grants program offers funding for projects that seek to involve and educate local communities in valuing and actively caring for the ecological values of the Port Phillip Bay (Western Shoreline) and Bellarine Peninsula Ramsar site.


The type of projects supported by this program include:

  • Projects that engage, educate and raise awareness of the benefits and importance of the Ramsar site and its ecological values among the broader community,
  • On-ground projects to restore, protect or enhance the ecological values of the Ramsar site, and/or address threats to biodiversity e.g. weed invasion, habitat loss etc, and/or
  • Projects that increase opportunities for the community to connect with the Ramsar site and its ecological values.

These grants support the delivery of the Port Phillip Bay (Western Shoreline) and Bellarine Peninsula Ramsar Site Management Plan 2018.


Who is eligible?
Grants are open to environmental volunteer groups, ‘friends of’ groups, Landcare networks/groups, schools, non-government organisations, public land managers, and Committees of management.

Grants of up to $20,000 in total are available.
