The Corangamite CMA is working with regional natural resource management partners to prepare a new Regional Catchment Strategy (RCS).
The community consultation period for the draft Corangamite Regional Catchment strategy is now closed.
We thank everyone who provided feedback on the draft and are collating responses now to consider for inclusion in the final document.
There are eight asset groups that make up the RCS. These are:
- Rivers and estuaries
- Marine environment
- Threatened flora and fauna
- Terrestrial habitat
- Agricultural land
The RCS will set 20-year objectives and strategic actions that will occur over its six-year life.
These objectives and actions will provide organisations, groups and individuals with a shared regional direction and enable local planning and action to occur in the areas of greatest need.
The completed document will go to the Minister for Environment and Climate Change and Minister for Water for approval in September 2012.
